Cafe Lugud Premium Coffee 225g

Have a cup full of:

Rich Flavor: Sit back and enjoy the deep and strong taste of dark roasted premium Arabica coffee beans
Love: Each purchase contributes to the scholarship fund of GK Sibol School in Pampanga
Compassion: Each cup provides a better income for the coffee farmers in Mt. Province

Cafe Lugud comes from the term "lugud" which is another word for "love" in Kapampangan. Cafe Lugud practices fair trade by buying directly from coffee farmers in Araca Coffee Farm in Benguet and Bauko Coffee Farm in Mt. Province - rather than from middlemen to help improve the farmers' income.

This social enterprise product isn’t available yet for delivery outside the Philippines. But we’re hoping to share the goodness to even more people soon!

The one I got seems to be too stale already. I didn't expect it to taste really great knowing that it's pre-ground, but I was underwhelmed when I smelled and tasted my first brew of Cafe Lugud. It is disappointing compared to the barako grounds we bought two months ago from the grocery for almost half the price. I experimented a bit and brewed the two side by side--the barako seemed to "bloom" more than the Cafe Lugud, which may indicate that the barako is "fresher". I love social enterprises and their advocacy, and would wish only the best for them. That said, here are some ideas that could help improve the product: 1. Print the date of roasting on the pack. This way, coffee lovers like me could be assured that the grounds we get are still relatively fresh. 2. Pack whole beans for those who prefer to grind their own. [EDITOR'S NOTE: Hi Darwin! We're sorry to hear about your complaint. Cafe Lugud always aims for quality in their production. In fact, roasting is usually done 3-5 days before the manufacturing date indicated on the packaging, which is the date that they grind and pack their coffee to ensure freshness. We'd be happy to look into your experience and offer you a free replacement for your product if you received one that is lower in quality. We appreciate your suggestions and will definitely take them into consideration :) Our Customer Service will be in touch with you very soon! Thank you!]
