CSI Forum We would also like to invite you to the Gawad Kalinga Center for Social Innovation Forum on October 9, 2010, 9am–12pm at Henry Irwin Lee Theater, Ateneo de Manila University (same venue as the Human Nature Summit which will start at 1pm). A UP Los Banos graduate, Hannah was formulating elsewhere but fell in love with Human Nature because of her previous experience volunteering in Gawad Kalinga sites in Laguna. She relocated from the south to join us and is already playing an important role in formulating new products, including taking the lead on our new tinted lip balm, which is due for release in November. 
Joanna Go Mercedes – Merchandising and Operations Associate
Joanna will be our “man on the field” so to speak as she ensures that Human Nature brand merchandising objectives are met. She will also assist is some aspects of branch operations to make sure that the dealers get the best customer service possible.   
Eva Escaño, Lorinda Ferrer and Kristine Alvarez-Gonzalez are the newest additions to the Human Nature Sales Team, which we are beefing up in time for the Christmas rush. They will be assisting you with all sales and customer service transactions.
 
Michael Angelo Manongtong and Jheng Tadeo are the newest members of the Human Nature warehouse staff. Both come from GK Brookside and will help in getting those orders packed and ready to go especially in this upcoming Christmas season.
DANGEROUS CHEMICALS 101: Petrolatum Alright, so we’ve all done it at one point or another. I mean, who hasn’t put petroleum jelly all over their feet at night and covered it up with socks (eek!) in the hopes of attaining softer soles and removing calluses, or used it as make-up remover (*gasp*), or worse, used it as a lip balm (*face palm*)? Some refer to petroleum jelly as a girl’s best friend, the do-it-all cream, or simply, the wonder ointment. What these people fail to see are the dangers that petroleum jelly brings. You see, petroleum jelly IS petrolatum, which is a mix of mineral oils, paraffin and microcrystalline waxes. Its advocates will tell you that Petrolatum locks moisture against the skin. But it does this by sitting on the skin’s surface, blocking pores. This speeds up ageing and may cause the appearance of pimples because the skin cannot properly breathe - healthy skin needs to take in oxygen and release carbon dioxide. Petrolatum is listed as a probable human carcinogen in the European Union's Dangerous Substances Directive (UNECE 2004). Because we don’t want any of the harmful chemicals going on/into our bodies, we’ve infused all Human Nature products with all of the good stuff –cocoa butter, virgin coconut oil, sunflower oil, avocado oil, etc. Here is a list of Human Nature products that does just what that pot of petroleum jelly does, only better and more safely! Marge Padilla is one of Human Nature’s most loyal dealers. She found out about Human Nature while watching TV one afternoon and chanced upon ANC’s Shop Talk hosted by Riza Hontiveros. What immediately caught her attention were the colourful labels of the products. She tuned in and soon realized that what they were discussing was natural and organic products. This caused curiosity bells to ring off and she immediately called the Human Nature head office, purchased her products, and the rest is history. Marge signed up to be a dealer in February 2009 and three months later, she was invited to sell at the Legazpi Sunday Market. Her motivation has gone beyond just having an additional income since she is and has been a Freelance Advertising Director for the past 23 years. "I am grateful for the extra income that being a HN Dealer generates for me and my family. But more than that, HN has a humble mission and I am truly glad that as a Dealer, I have been able to help make its mission materialize in my own little way. I look forward to selling HN at the weekend market on Sundays. For over a year now, my enthusiasm to wake up very early on Sunday mornings hasn't changed and I thank God for giving me that very positive desire. Becoming a HN Dealer did not happen by accident and there is no other thing greater than being in love with what you do. I do love selling HN. It gives my life a sensible purpose!!!" shares Marge.
