Message from Anna ![]() Dear Friends, The new year always means reflections and new beginnings. As I ponder on the year that has passed, I become thankful not only for the many blessings but also the challenges that have tested our resolve to live out our mission of showing the way for business to find solutions to poverty. A Gawad Kalinga full-time worker once sent me a quote saying that, "the problem of poverty is not only an economic issue but a behavioral one", therefore the solution is not as simple as increased wages but developing a mindset of prosperity and not of deprivation. In just four short years, we have grown from 4 employees to now close to 180 dedicated people just in the head office servicing 26 branches in 4 countries. Our commitment to developing our partner communities is as strong as ever regardless of the difficulties to produce world-class raw materials from our farmers' produce. We look forward to surprises and challenges of 2013 with renewed fervor that with a new breed of conscientious customers like you, and a dedicated and hard-working crop of social entrepreneurs eager to provide quality products that also seek to chip away at the big problem of poverty, we can turn our country around within our generation. Happy new year! With resolute hope, ![]() Anna Meloto-Wilk President Gandang Kalikasan Inc. New Products For all you homemakers out there, we know you've been waiting a long time for this!
