 Dear Friends,
The year has gone by dizzyingly fast and just like that, we are now in the fourth quarter of 2013. Just when people are starting to think about Christmas, the whole nation is once again literally in shock as we mourn the loss of lives and a part of our history that crumbled with the Visayas earthquake. I personally hold Bohol close to my heart as it was in this beautiful province, on top of the viewing deck of the Chocolate Hills that I got engaged to a visionary, my co-founder in Human Nature, Dylan Wilk. The foundation of our union is our faith and shared love for the Philippines and God's creation in general and Bohol was definitely a showcase of all those things. The structures might have crumbled but I firmly believe in the Filipino's unshakeable spirit and relentless ingenuity. I hope that this natural disaster can once again bring the country together in solidarity to rebuild our history, and reach out to the people affected.

With the heart of a hero instilled in us and the scale of Typhoon Yolanda's devastation before us, Gawad Kalinga (GK), the globally-recognized Filipino movement for nation-building, has pledged to raise 20,000 homes for the most impoverished families displaced by the storm. Human Nature has responded to this call with Goodness Rising - a campaign to build 100 homes in Barangay Tambulilid, Ormoc where entire communities were wiped out.
