![]() I have just returned from a brief yet refreshing trip to Calicoan -- a beautiful island in Eastern Samar and, once again, felt privileged to live in a country blessed with over 7,100 beaches. To live in sunny (well, sometimes rainy too) Philippines means to experience the burst of beauty and color that only nature can offer. What foreigners would pay dearly for to experience, we have it at our doorstep. No one should be more invested in preserving our country's natural treasures than us, Filipinos. Not just for the purpose of showcasing it for foreigners to enjoy for a brief vacation stay but more so for the purpose of preserving it for Filipinos to enjoy and be proud of FOREVER! To this day, I am constantly amazed by how Human Nature truly takes to heart its mission of being a faithful steward to what God has blessed this country with. Human Nature goes to the source of product development and ingredient sourcing to ensure every new product developed is 100% free from harmful chemicals that can hurt our natural resources both in the short and long term. To choose natural alternatives over synthetic chemical ingredients can be more costly for Human Nature to develop. Beginning April 1 and in partnership with Ms. Earth 2010 -- beauties for the environment -- 100% of 100% of all profit earned by Human Nature from the sale of its Passion Fruit Hydrating Mineral Lipstick will go into funding the needs of a passion fruit farming community in a Gawad Kalinga Village in Catigan, Davao del Sur to help set them up as a processing facility for passion fruit seed oil. The farmers currently earn Php10/kilo of passion fruit which is barely enough to sustain a family with dignity. As they begin to learn how to process passion fruit seed oil to world-class standards, they can charge a higher price for their oil which in turn will be a more sustainable source of good income for the community. Human Nature will purchase the oil at a fair trade price and find different ways of using it in its products - in lotions, shampoos, conditioners, etc. Again, this shows how Human Nature is able to live out its mission "...to showcase the best of the Philippines and uplift our people, especially the poor, through providing affordable, quality, natural products." Love Minerals Pressed Powder Foundation Updates We have received a few reports of incidents of cracking with some of our earlier batches of mineral pressed powder foundation. We have traced the source of the cracking and have addressed it accordingly. Recent batches should no longer experience any of the cracking issues. If you do receive a foundation which later cracks, you may return it to any Human Nature Branch or to the Head Office for replacement/refund plus a free tinted lip balm. OTHER UPDATES Beauty Bar Joins CommPassion Campaign ![]() Beauty Bar, the country's most premium beauty & personal care store is well-known for carrying only the most prestigious, exclusive imported products which are not available anywhere else in the country. But they have fallen so much in love with our ComPassion campaign and with the Love Minerals range that they have agreed to make Love Minerals by Human Nature the very first Filipino make-up brand to be carried by them. Beauty Bar has only a small number of outlets nationwide, but their name is legendary. We firmly believe that being carried by Beauty Bar will bring heightened credibility making it easier for all of you dealers to sell the products to your customers. Results of Human Nature's Trial In Rustans: Beneficial for Farmers AND DEALERS! ![]() Last June 2010, Human Nature piloted placement of select Human Nature products in 2 Rustans outlets and the Citronella Bug Spray in Shopwise outlets in Metro Manila. This was designed to raise awareness of the Human Nature brand and increase demand for the Bug Spray to enhance livelihood for our Citronella farming community. At that time, many dealers were skeptical that it would benefit them and we found ourselves having to defend the program to quite a number of you! However, we deeply believed that it would ultimately help your sales, not harm them. Every product in Rustans carried a tag which directed the buyer to a webpage where they could find a local dealer to buy the rest of the range from. We are happy to report that after several months of assessment, it seems as though the test has in fact been beneficial for everyone - for dealers, for our independently-owned branches, for Human Nature and of course, for the farmers. Dealers have reported getting referrals completely out of the blue from the web address listed on the neck tag and other dealers have signed up, purely because they learned about the products in Rustans. In light of this, we have now decided to expand a very limited range of only 4 products to a total of 14 Rustans and Shopwise outlets. 7 outlets will carry a slightly broader range of 15 product lines.
