"I never got to college but you trusted me." -- Dina Ocampo, Provincial Coordinator

Before joining Human Nature, my dream was to join the police force, the army, or SWAT. But my family could not afford to send me to college. With that, I prayed to find a job to help my family. I was willing even to work as a house maid.

I started in Human Nature as an "extra" in the warehouse, when Ate April, one of the warehouse staff asked me if I wanted a job for two days. I didn't hesitate, even if I knew that the job offered was temporary. Then after two days Ate April asked Ma'am Anna (Wilk) if I can go back again, then she said "yes". Finally! I got a job!

"It was such a shift in perspective to hear about a beauty brand talking about uplifting the lives of Filipinos." -- Dia Lacaba, International Business Head

Prior to discovering Human Nature, I'd spent about eight years following the usual corporate path, mainly copying what most of my classmates at UP did – graduated, got my CPA license, started working for large corporations. I learned a lot in that early period of my working life, and met some very good friends and mentors along the way. It was a lot of fun, because I eventually ended up in marketing, and marketeers get to do a lot of creative stuff, meet interesting people, and attend seminars and events in and outside the country. But even so, I moved from one company to another, looking for an indefinable something that would make me stay.

In 2011, having just completed a two-year non-compete agreement with a large international beauty company, I was looking for opportunities to return to the beauty industry, and came across a job posting for Human Nature.

Human Nature's SE team continues to
grow partner farming communities

Did you know that our land is home to over 70 to 80 percent of the world's diversity? In fact, Laguna's Mount Makiling is home to more tree species than the entire United States*.

Since Human Nature began, we've worked hard to be good stewards of the Philippines' rich biodiversity by creating products using indigenous ingredients.

After funding the Citronella Extraction Facility in Bukidnon through Goodness Rising and Bug Shield sales, we've branched out to sourcing more ingredients locally. From the citronella in our Bug Shield line & Wellness Oil to the sugar that we use in our bestselling Natural Lip Scrub, we're helping more farms grow by giving new value to their produce through our Social Enterprise Development team.

Carmelray team Shares Learnings to SEED Students

Human Nature's Carmelray team traveled from south to north for a day of fun and learning with the students of School of Experiential and Entrepreneurial Development (SEED).
Held last August 4, the Research and Development team and the Manufacturing and Quality Assurance team visited the GK Enchanted Farm, Bulacan.

The day started with lessons on how to scale up production through manufacturing. For many social enterprises, increasing production can be tricky. Mildred Baril, Plant Manager of Carmelray Manufacturing Plant, gave pointers on how to setup a plant based on the nature of their proposed business.

Meanwhile, the Research & Development team headed by Blaise Graida, Senior Formulator, discussed the research and development process of a product.

Pinay Peacemaker Breaks Stereotypes through Serving others

Noorain Sabdulla spends her days helping bring basic goods and services to far flung communities.

While her aim was to simply help people, no matter what their faith was, she didn’t realize that she was slowly becoming a peacemaker by living out her Muslim faith wherever she went.

"I was in Grade 6 when I told my mom that I was ready to wear my hijab, a symbol of womanhood for us. When I started wearing it, I'd often hear people call me 'Abu Sayaf!' or 'MILF!'" Noorain shared in Human Nature's Pinay & Proud for Peace themed advocacy night. But unkind words never broke Noorain's spirit.
