Join us as we pay tribute to the team that helps make your favorite natural goodies grow: our Supply Chain!

Here at Human Nature, we’ve made it our mission to provide homegrown world-class products that all Filipinos can be proud of. As the demand for our products continues to rise, our company’s team of passionate movers and shakers have also multiplied to make it possible to build a better, brighter Philippines. Today, we’d like to honor a group of individuals who have played a vital role in helping the goodness grow: Our Supply Chain Department.

Supply Chain
Meet our fantastic Supply Chain team!

Have you ever wondered about the people behind your favorite natural goodies? Our incredibly hardworking team of global stewards is composed of Vida Prollamante, Angeli Diamante, Joshua Gan, Charmaine Cueto, Suzette Barbara, Harry Cuntapay, Lilia Sta. Ines, Cheryl Castaneda, Kathleen Razon, Princess Jamito - plus Gelo Dayrit and Joy Baluyot of our fantastic Logistics team overseeing our warehouse.

As the company’s backbone, their work involves coordinating with suppliers, analyzing data, mapping out lead times, and working out deadlines for production. They also work hand-in-hand with the different departments to ensure that all product demands are met from end-to-end. Along with our Research and Development Team and Quality Assurance Team, they help ensure that all raw materials sourced from local communities and overseas are 100% earth-friendly and that all finished goods meet our gold standard: fulfilling our advocacy of being Pro-Philippines, Pro-Poor and Pro-Environment.

From sustainability management to sourcing materials, Supply Chain works hard not to maximize profit, but to optimize profit. As a company that has been in operation for almost five years, Human Nature has blazed a new way of doing business. This has required a great amount of courage, sacrifice, resourcefulness, and commitment – especially when difficulties and pressure strike.

As one Supply Chain team member Angeli says, "We treat our suppliers and dealers as stakeholders by ensuring everyone gets an equitable share of the revenue chain that will enable them to sustain their own operations and take care of their own stakeholders. People and planet hold primary value in decisions of social enterprises. Quality of life, dignity of work, [and] environmental stewardship are key values that are never compromised in business decisions."

The Challenges of Supplying a Social Enterprise

One of the challenges (and rewards) experienced by the Supply Chain team is being able to share our story and our advocacy with our partner suppliers who also happen to be the same suppliers of other big corporations.

While big corporations have a much larger business to leverage with when dealing with suppliers, social enterprises like Human Nature are merely a small account against them. So it's really a challenge getting the same attention and priority from suppliers. We are, however, blessed that our current roster of suppliers sees the potential and opportunity in what Human Nature is doing - despite our being the small fish in a big sea of big players - and we honor their support and commitment.

In addition, natural products have a shorter shelf life that chemical ones. Angeli emphasizes, “We really need to monitor the status of the production every day for some finished goods because their natural nature requires more care in production and storage.” Thus the production of our products is in smaller, more frequent batches and as our Supply Chain Head, Vida notes, “We face the challenge of very, very short lead times.”

Grace Under Pressure

Although working in Supply Chain is no easy task, this inspiring team of proactive movers is motivated by the challenges that they face every day. Distinctively known for being focused, detail-oriented, hardworking, and persevering, they are able to perform brilliantly, even under the most stressful situations.

Moreover, what drives them to give their best is the knowledge that they are working towards one common goal: to help build a business for the good of all, towards a progressive Philippines. In Supply Chain Buyer Cheryl’s words, “I revel in the fact that I work for the fastest growing social enterprise in the Philippines. How many people can say that you are making a difference by doing something as ordinary as 'Buying'? I feel that I do make a contribution to the company vision in my own little way.”

Working in Supply Chain has taught people like Cheryl that "You cannot let fear of failure stop you from accomplishing your goals. Be brave enough to push through seemingly impossible tasks. Do not stop with the first (or second or third...) roadblock." Working with a group of inspiring individuals constantly fuels their passion every single day. As the head of the team, Vida says that guiding a team with hearts of heroes and “being able to mentor my Gawad Kalinga family and seeing my team grow and evolve to [become] great people" are truly rewarding.

We salute the Supply Chain Team for showing us what it means to being truly committed in providing safe, world-class, and earth-friendly natural products! May you continue to inspire us through your everyday efforts that make a positive impact in the lives of many!
