Ever wonder about the brilliant brains behind your favorite Human Nature products? Here’s one face to curb your curiosity. Kirsty Lenon worked as a Process Development Assistant in Unilever’s prestigious labs before dedicating her talent and creativity as a Natural Products Formulator for Human Nature.
“I can say that it is the advocacy that attracted me the most,” Kirsty recalls. “I was fascinated by how some of the raw materials used in Human Nature products are locally grown by our Filipino farmers. Human Nature is about giving chances and opportunities. We provide career opportunities to people from all walks of life and educational backgrounds. We have a no firing policy because we believe in the good in everyone. We acknowledge that people might commit mistakes but what’s important is how we learn and rise from those mistakes. I’m very proud to say that we have no contractual employees. Everyone gets a chance to have a stable job and a steady future.”
Researching, sourcing, testing, and formulating natural ingredients that have the ability to be sourced locally and do exactly what chemical ingredients do – only better – is quite the challenge for our Research and Development (R&D) team.
So what is Kirsty’s proudest achievement so far? “The project that is the most memorable for me is the Nourishing Facial Wash, because it was the first product that I formulated from scratch,” Kirsty gushes. “I’m proud of all the products that we in R&D formulate. We face a lot of challenges just to make sure that we only use natural and safe ingredients but we try our very best to overcome them.”
For Kirsty, working at Human Nature has truly been a growth experience. “Not everyone has the chance to help a lot of people by simply coming to work and doing your best. Working in Human Nature made me more mature and more responsible for my actions and decisions since what I do does not only affect me and my fellow employees, but those people who we are helping as well. I also became better at my craft because of the support and trust that Dylan and Ate Anna [Wilk] have for all of us.”
