Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: In what channels is this promo applicable?
A: S.O.S. Switch is available ONLY in Human Nature branches nationwide. Customers may transact directly in branches or through dealers. This promo is not applicable to web purchases.
Q: How will the whole transaction go about in the store?
A: Step One – Check if your synthetic products at home contain any of the following harmful chemicals: 1) oxybenzone, 2) plastic microbeads, 3) SLS/SLES/ALS/ALES or 4) mineral oil *.
Step Two – Go to the nearest Human Nature branch and obtain the Human Nature product that you want to get in exchange for the product/container that you want to surrender. You may approach any customer care officer in the store, any time during your shopping, for assistance.
Step Three – Proceed to the cashier for payment transaction. The cashier assistant will check the label and get the surrendered product container from you.
*These chemicals may come in a different name or may be replaced by a similar synthetic ingredient. Please refer to the table above for the complete switch guide.
Q: Is this the same as the Switch to Goodness last year?
A: The S.O.S. Switch is a completely different program. You will need to read the label of the product they own to check if it contains any of the following: 1) oxybenzone, 2) plastic microbeads, 3) SLS/SLES/ALS/ALES or 4) mineral oil*. If their product lists at least one of the noted harmful chemicals, the customer is eligible for a 15% discount on the Human Nature product that contains its natural counterpart.
*These chemicals may come in a different name or may be replaced by a similar synthetic ingredient. Please refer to the table above for the complete switch guide.
Q: Why is the promo only for select harmful chemicals?
A: We understand that there are many harmful chemicals to avoid and most of them come in long confusing terms. That’s why we want to introduce customers to the habit of reading the label in the simplest way possible. Limiting the switch to four chemicals will make these ingredients easier to remember.
Q: Can we switch products that claim to be “natural” but contain one of the mentioned harmful chemicals?
A: Yes. Many products claim to be “natural” or “gentle,” but still contain harmful chemicals. This promo aims to empower customers to only choose products that are truly safe.
Q: Can customers switch any synthetic product even if it doesn’t contain any of the identified harmful chemicals above?
A: No. The objective of this promo is to help change consumer habits. When we ensure customers follow the prescribed mechanics, we also ensure that they read the label before participating in the promo.
Q: Can customers exchange women’s soap with kid’s/men’s soap?
A: Yes, this is permitted. For simplicity and consistency, as long as an item will be “exchanged” with a similar type/format/use of item, the “exchange” is considered valid.
For example, the following switches are acceptable:
- Dishwashing Paste for Human Nature Dishwashing Liquid
- Detergent Bar Soap for Human Nature Liquid or Powder Detergent
- Facial Scrub for Human Nature Body Scrub
Q: Can this promo be availed together with other existing offers?
A: Yes, the 15% discount shall be applied on top of ongoing magalogue promos net of dealer discount.
Q: Can we switch a synthetic product with a different-sized Human Nature product?
A: Yes. For example, if a customer walks in with a 50ml shampoo and wants to “exchange” it with a 200ml Human Nature Shampoo, she may do so. In the same way, if she walks in with a 200ml shampoo and wants to “exchange” it with a 50ml Human Nature Shampoo, she may also do so. There is no limitation nor requirement in the product sizes to be surrendered and/or purchased.
Q: Can we break sizes for the product that we’re switching? For example, I will surrender a 400ml body wash and “exchange” it with two 200ml Human Nature Body Washes.
A: No. The ratio of the surrendered product to Human Nature product is strictly 1:1.
Q: Can I surrender an expired product?
A: No. Human Nature will only accept products that will expire beyond May 30, 2016. This means that the expiration date should be June 1, 2016 onwards.
Q: Will you accept containers that have torn labels or defective cap?
A: Yes, as long as the product label, ingredient list, and expiration clause are still readable. An important guideline is that we will only be accepting bottles/containers that are clean for hygiene and sanitation purposes.
Q: Why do we have to switch empty containers instead of non-empty containers?
A: Making sure containers are empty and clean aids in maintaining good sanitation inside branches and allows us to surrender collected packaging materials to junk shops for recycling. Junk shops do not accept containers that are not empty.
Q: What is Human Nature going to do with the collected containers?
A: Surrendered containers will be sold for recycling and proceeds will be turned over to nearby GK communities.
Q: Can we switch products in sachets and foil packs?
A: No, we have decided not to accept sachets because of the negative impact they have on the environment. Sachets are not accepted by most recycling centers and are often simply dumped into landfills or improperly disposed such that they make their way into rivers, lakes, and oceans; thus, destroying these ecosystems.
Q: Can I surrender an old Human Nature product (old packaging)?
A: No. Only products with 1) oxybenzone, 2) plastic microbeads, 3) SLS/SLES/ALS/ALES or 4) mineral oil * listed on its ingredient list will be accepted.
*These chemicals may come in a different name or may be replaced by a similar synthetic ingredient. Please refer to the table above for the complete switch guide.
Q: Is there a maximum quantity that I can bring and exchange in the store?
A: No. In fact, you may surrender as many containers as you can provided that you purchase its Human Nature counterpart.
Q: Can I switch both primary and secondary packaging to avail the promo twice?
A: No, we will only accept primary packaging (i.e. a toothpaste’s tube and not the box).
