The goodness grows for more citronella farming communities!

The goodness grows for more citronella farming communities!

The Philippines is blessed with an abundance of agricultural products – rice, corn, coconuts, and citronella among any others – and yet, many of its farmers find it difficult to have a sustainable livelihood and only earn an average daily wage of P156.80.*

Seeds of Compassion and Hope

Aiming to change this for the better for all, Human Nature started planting seeds of hope with the launching of One Heart for One Community in 2010, a program which helps farming communities in Camarines Norte by providing them with better skills, better equipment, and better facilities to produce high-quality products.

In just under three years, the program raised P972,694.94 for the citronella farming community in Barangay Kanapawan, Labo, Camarines Norte! The proceeds were used to provide better facilities and services not just for the farmers but also for their families and the whole community.

The Goodness Grows

Encouraged by the goodness it has helped nurture, Human Nature in partnership with Gawad Kalinga launched the Farmer’s Fund Drive last year to help fund the Citronella Agro-enterprise Development (CAD) Program in three barangays in Bukidnon: San Jose, Impalutao, and Imbayao.

Much like its predecessor, the CAD Program aims to improve the output of farmers by investing in their skills training, equipment, infrastructure, and GK values formation. In order to do this, Human Nature has targeted a goodness goal of selling 50,000 bottles of its 100% Natural Bug Shield DEET-Free Oil and 100% Natural Bug Shield DEET-Free Lotion.

But the bayanihan efforts don't stop there. Human Nature will always continue to share the dream with its farming communities to create world-class Filipino products and more importantly, to provide better quality of life for the farmers and their families. To give strong, firm roots to this growing dream, Human Nature has committed to be a sure market for the citronella oil produced by these communities.

We hope you can stand with us in sowing these seeds of goodness so those who need it the most can reap the hope, safety, and love they will one day bear. Walang Iwanan!
