Hailing from Tagum City, an hour away from Davao City, Catherine Tio has been a user of Human Nature for 3 years and wanted to bring then hard-to-find Human Nature products to her community. She signed up as an advocate in October 2016, and two months later, put up a selling kiosk in her city.
Catherine had already been running an accounting and book-keeping business. Still, her heart yearned to start another enterprise. She recalls praying, “Lord, give me a business that I can bring to my community and friends.”
There were a lot of options, but Catherine wanted to do something that fit her personality. “I wanted a business that I can enjoy doing. Something that I can proudly talk about. Many businesses are lucrative. They even give trips abroad. But I didn’t want to burden customers. I wanted something that makes me happy, and also makes my customers happy.”
She was pleasantly surprised at the outcome – she sold P452,975 worth of Human Nature products in just three months! In a market that’s teeming with nature-inspired products and brands claiming to be natural, she confidently tells her clients, “Human Nature is not just any natural product, we have third party NPA (Natural Products Association) certification.”
Catherine knows the tools to a successful enterprise. “I am careful with the in and out of money. I also put in place an inventory system, so I can see what’s going on with my business.” This allows her to run her two businesses at the same time.
Catherine partly owes her success to a small but strategically located fixed-location store in her province – which goes to show you don’t need to be in the metro to make it big.
