Looking for a healthier alternative to the usual trick-or-treat candies? Be every kid's favorite sweets giver with your own DIY chocolate-covered polvorons using Theo & Philo Artisan Chocolate!
What you’ll need:
- 1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup full-cream powdered milk
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 250 grams of your favorite Theo & Philo Chocolate (chopped)
- Polvoron molder
What to do:
1. Toast flour in a pan until it turns light brown, stirring constantly so the flour browns evenly. Don’t forget to keep your kids away from the hot pan!
2. Transfer the toasted flour to a medium-sized mixing bowl.
3. Add the powdered milk and sugar and blend well.
4. Add the softened butter and mix well.
5. Fill in your polvoron molder with the mixture and release formed pieces in a tray. Chill for 20 minutes or until firm.
6. Melt chocolate in a double boiler or in the microwave for about 20 seconds.
7. Using a fork – fondue forks work great! – dip each piece of polvoron into the melted chocolate until it is completely and evenly coated.
8. Carefully lift the coated polvoron out of the pot and slide onto a baking sheet lined with wax paper or foil. Chill briefly to set.
9. Once polvoron is set, it’s time to dig in! For leftovers, wrap each piece in Japanese paper or colored cellophane to save for later.
