What you'll need:

  • Old film-developed family photos
  • Thick white cardboard
  • Craft knife
  • Metal ruler
  • Pencil
  • Double-sided tape or glue
  • Magnetic tape

What to do:

1. Rummage through your old photographs and pick your favorite memory shots
2. Trim each photo with a craft knife into into 1x1 or 2x2 inch squares, depending on your desired size
3. Stick each cropped photo on your white cardboard using double-sided tape or glue, leaving ample space between each photo
4. Trace a polaroid-like border around each photo using a pencil and metal ruler
5. Cut out each polaroid with a craft knife, using your metal ruler as a guide to keep the cuts straight
6. Cut out strips of magnetic tape to fit the backing of each polaroid
7. Stick magnetic tape to the polaroid backing and leave photos under a heavy book overnight
