Two years ago, Human Nature made the commitment to send bright and deserving scholars to the School of Experiential and Entrepreneurial Development (SEED) by raising funds. After seeing the pioneer batch graduate, we continue to provide support to SEED students and alumni by imparting with them knowledge and skills that they may utilize as they begin their journey to becoming social entrepreneurs.

Catch a glimpse of the Category Team’s experience when they visited GK Enchanted Farm to meet with SEED students and coach them on the essentials of Marketing.

"Marketing’s Category Team had the opportunity on May 25, 2017 to meet, educate and coach the SEED Sophomores. We traveled nearly two hours from the Human Nature head office to the GK Enchanted Farm, and when we arrived we immediately set to work for the tasks at hand.

We started the day with an ice breaker aimed to help emphasize the effects of brands on our daily lives. This was followed by the crash courses on the 6 P’s of Marketing. To help the students appreciate and absorb what they’d be learning throughout the day, the class was divided into four groups and each group was given a unique topic.  A social enterprise was selected per group, and every group worked to identify their target market (people), distribution area (place), price, and promotion strategies. The workshop proved to be helpful as the students applied what they have learned to their own business approaches.

The Category Team also served as consultants to students during the workshop and guided the aspiring entrepreneurs as the latter shared their hurdles with their respective enterprises. By the end of the workshop, each group reported their strategy to the entire class.

I found the activity worthwhile. It’s always great to see young people who are determined to uplift their lives while hoping to do the same for others. It’s a privilege to help them carve a path even if it’s just through a day-workshop. We not only shared what we already know about Marketing—that our experiences made us grow as professionals but we also learned while mentored others. It will be great to interact with these teens on a regular basis and help them get further with their social enterprise.” – Blaise Fortuna

“Sharing my experience in Marketing to the SEED kids was a very fulfilling experience. I saw so much dream and ambition in their eager eyes and it made me feel good knowing that these dreams are not just for themselves but for their family and for their country.  They listened intently and were very participative.  It wasn’t hard for them to grasp the things that we shared and taught because they themselves have enterprises that are already in the incubation stage so it was easy for them to imagine how each of the P’s that we discussed will apply to their own businesses.  I hope we can have more of this kind of “skill sharing” session as it gives me a better purpose as a marketing person.”— Diane Basino
