Skip the usual mall trip for the weekend! Explore the countryside with your kids and teach them the value of agriculture, nature and social entrepreneurship.

On June 24, MAD Travel will host another Kids Camp at the GK Enchanted Farm, Angat, Bulacan, where children will get to creatively learn outside of the four corners of their classroom by fishing, farming, animal feeding and creating their own social enterprise products, to name some, all under the protection of SafeProtect SPF 30 for Kids from the fiery heat of the sun, of course.

Here, we narrowed down the ways on how to nurture your children’s curiosity and creativity more while they are on the farm.

Let them express through art

Almost every corner of the GK Enchanted Farm speaks of resourcefulness. You will see tires turned chairs, plastic bottles turned hanging pots, a palace made up of bamboos, a hall installed with rainbow cloths on the ceiling, and drinks heartily squeezed from crops—all inspiring enough to unleash the art angel in your child. They will get the chance to make their own stuffed toys from Plush and Play, where toys like Manny Pakwan and Anne Kamatis can be found. They will also have an art attack session where they will be able to paint their dreams with your help!

Take them on the ground

Tour around and make them wonder what makes the farm enchanted. Let them feed the animals, go fishing, and pot herbs and vegetables. Through these, your child will be able to understand the importance of cultivating our own land, what they can do out of the resources found in it, and how they can take good care of it. You see, it’s the perfect time to let them experience what happened when old MacDonald had a farm, and to get their hands dirty every once in a while.

After which, feast on a farm-to-table boodle fight while feeling the fresh air on the farm. How awesome is that?

Keep them involved to help them

As Edward Wilson put it, “You teach me, I forget. You show me, I remember. You involve me, I understand.” By letting them make their own peanut butter with First Harvest and bake their own cookies with MakePeace Bakery, children will be able to appreciate more of what’s on the table because of the effort, creation and involvement that they all shared together.

Kids Camp will be on June 24 (Saturday) at the GK Enchanted Farm, Angat, Bulacan. It is open to kids 3-12 years old (and parents as well)! Registration fee is Php 2,200/kid and Php 1,600/adult including farm-fresh lunch, (2) snacks, Human Nature Bug Shield Oil, and all activities in the itinerary. Children under 6 years old must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. To join, kindly visit http://madtravel.org/kids-camp/.
